A NEW HOME FOR

THE AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF ARCHITECTS ST. LOUIS

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) St. Louis Chapter is delighted to announce its upcoming relocation to a new, centralized, community-centric home in the heart of Downtown St. Louis. Featuring fantastic views, spacious room for hosting programs and events; state-of-the-art equipment including a podcast studio; and ample, accessible, & secure parking; AIA St. Louis is ready to embrace this new beginning.

Board President Leslie Garner, AIA, shared, “AIA St. Louis is entering an exciting new chapter. April 2027 we will move our office to Spark St. Louis — a move designed to create greater opportunities for connection and collaboration while thoughtfully stewarding the resources entrusted to our organization.

Our office has always been more than an address. It is a home for our members, our committees, our partners, and the conversations that move our profession forward. Our new location gives us an opportunity to rethink what that home can be and how it can best serve our members today and into the future.”

AIA St. Louis is the voice of the architectural profession, dedicated to serving its members, advancing their value, and improving the quality of the built environment. Responding to the needs of its members, recent survey results revealed an overwhelming desire for a new space with more flexibility & security, and less dependency on bookstore & Resource Center revenue. In response, AIA St. Louis has sunset its Resource Center in favor of a new sponsorship model, and will significantly downsize its familiar Washington Avenue bookstore. Results also showed a strong commitment to staying Downtown where the majority of firms are located and in St. Louis City where the majority of members reside. To that end, AIA St. Louis remains committed to the Urban Core, which is experiencing a twelve-year low in crime rates; reflecting the hard work, dedication, and collaboration between the built environment and local officials.

Executive Director, John Wolbers concludes, “This year marks AIA St. Louis’ 40^th anniversary in the Lammert Building. While our partnership with T-REX there has been momentous to our growth, we now represent nearly 900 members and host 100 events annually. We’re an association of visionaries. We need a nimble space to further that growth, build on our legacy, and envision our future for the next 40 years.”
