Presented by Jeff Himsel - Senior Business Development Manager, Excel Dryer, Inc. Excel Dryer is happy to introduce our newest continuing education course for design professionals, New Global Trends in Commercial Restroom Design: Enhancing User Experience, Health, sustainability & Savings. This course explores the evolving landscape of commercial restroom design, highlighting the most significant changes and innovations of recent years. The course is approved for AIA, GBIC, and IDCEC credits. Drawing on global survey data, participants will gain insights into the perspectives and priorities of key stakeholders, from building owners and facility managers to architects and occupants. The program emphasizes strategies that support occupant health and wellness while balancing environmental responsibility and longterm cost savings. Attendees will leave with a deeper understanding of how thoughtful restroom design can enhance user experience, advance sustainability goals, and deliver measurable value across a variety of commercial spaces. - Evaluate post-pandemic perceptions of commercial restrooms—based on a global survey of architects, facility managers, and restaurant operators—and identify emerging design priorities across stakeholder groups.
- Analyze innovative restroom products designed to minimize touchpoints and reduce germ transmission, and assess their impact on occupant health, safety, and overall user experience.
- Identify restroom products that contribute to building performance certifications such as LEED and WELL, and explain how specific product attributes align with sustainability and wellness criteria.
- Examine the environmental impact of building material choices during the use phase, and demonstrate how strategic product selection can generate long-term operational savings and improve occupant well-being.
- Apply lessons from real-world case studies to illustrate how product selection supports project goals, including cost efficiency, environmental performance, and alignment with client sustainability objectives.
