Old Courhouse / New Future - Designing for Impact

Speakers:

AMY GILBERTSON, FAIA, LEED Green Associate

Trivers,  Principal 

 

Amy is a Principal at Trivers with 25 years of experience leading historic, civic, and hospitality projects. Her expertise in revitalizing historic structures includes work on 44 buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places and five National Historic Landmarks. A passionate advocate for integrating contemporary design solutions that promote accessibility, health, and wellness within historic contexts, Amy brings a forward-thinking approach to preserving and reimagining the built environment.

She has been invited to speak at local, national, and international conferences on topics ranging from adaptive reuse and preservation to inclusive design strategies. Amy holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Michigan, is a graduate of the CORO Women in Leadership program and serves on the University of Michigan Taubman College Alumni Council. In 2022, she was elevated to the AIA College of Fellows for her distinguished contributions to the stewardship and renewal of historic structures and is a member of the GSA’s National Registry of Peer Professionals.

 

AMANDA MCALLISTER, AIA, LEED AP

Trivers,  Project Manager | Associate 

 

Amanda is a Project Manager and Associate at Trivers with deep experience in civic and historic/adaptive reuse design. A licensed architect in Missouri and a LEED Accredited Professional, she contributes to some of the firm’s most significant federal and civic projects, including the Old Courthouse renovation and the MGEJ Bean Federal Center. Her work spans complex renovations, technical planning, and navigating historic design standards for buildings of local and national importance. In addition to her project work, Amanda supports the firm’s sustainability initiatives, both in-office and across project teams, drawing on her long-standing involvement in Trivers’ Green Team to provide guidance on sustainable strategies and performance goals. Elevated to Associate in 2019, Amanda continues to bring leadership, thoughtful problem-solving, and a collaborative approach to every project.

 

ANNA LEAVEY, AIA

Anna Leavey, LLC, Owner

 

Anna Leavey is a design and construction project management consultant currently working as Program Manager for the Brickline Greenway project led by Great Rivers Greenway and most recently constructed at CITYPARK. Leavey is also Program Manager/Owner’s Representative for the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra Renovation and Expansion project, The Sheldon Renovation project, as well as other design and construction projects in the St. Louis area. Prior to starting Anna Leavey LLC in 2018, Leavey was Director of Construction for Gateway Arch Park Foundation which was the lead organization on the construction project known as CityArchRiver that connects Downtown St. Louis with the Arch grounds and Riverfront.

Leavey holds a Master of Construction Management degree from Washington University in St. Louis, a Master of Architecture degree from the same institution and a Bachelor of Arts from Smith College.  She is a member of the Construction Management Association of America, the American Institute of Architects, is a LEED accredited professional, holds a Missouri Real Estate Salesperson-Broker license, and is a Master Gardener.

 

RUSS ARNESON

IMEG, Project Manager, Lead Mechanical Engineer

 

Russ Arneson, a Senior Mechanical Engineer with over 34 years of experience, specializes in the design of mechanical systems, creatively combining expertise in system selection, layout, and control to solve difficult design challenges. He is skilled in client communication and team leadership, with a strong sense of engineering aesthetics and attention to detail. Russ’s expertise is in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection design for both new and existing buildings in government, educational, healthcare, military, industrial, and commercial markets.
