Attendees will experience an in-person walking tour of the Cortex StL Innovation District led by a leading Designer of several development defining projects. A proud member of the Global Institute of Innovation Districts (GIID), Cortex fuels St. Louis' growth as a vibrant and inclusive innovation hub, creating equitable economic impacts through high-quality facilities, diverse programs that enhance knowledge and networking, and strategic partnerships that support both emerging and established companies. Attendees will learn about planning strategies and architectural challenges involved with transforming a historically industrial neighborhood into vibrant and diverse innovation district. Additionally, attendees will hear first hand from the Constructor of many of the developments projects of the challenges and opportunities involved with historic masonry building renovation and restoration. The tour route is mostly flat with several gentle inclines on sidewalks or paved surfaces.
