Presented by Mike Merritt of Inter-lux

Provided by Tony Randazzo of Lighting Associates

A tool-kit to assist Designers in decision making and planning, based on the fundamentals of lighting integration. The course focuses on the three key aspects of lighting:

  2. Pragmatic – Integration with the purpose and uses of the space. Considering appropriate techniques to deliver light, such as the type and positioning oflight sources, the nature of light provided, its directionality and effect on the space.
  3. Systematic – Integration with the physical fabric of the building. Selecting specific lighting details to deliver the pragmatic needs of the space, types ofequipment required, and understanding how it will physically integrate with thearchitectural fabric.

TRC Session: Connecting the Dots Between CSI Division 3 and Division 9 https://www.aia-stlouis.org/events/eventdetails.aspx?id=1846802 https://www.aia-stlouis.org/events/eventdetails.aspx?id=1846802 Presented by Connie Drees, LEED AP, CSI, CDT

This presentation will help participants to understand the basic parameters of work involved with CSI Division 3 and CSI Division 9 and the disconnects between these two CSI divisions and the impact that has on a floor covering installation. Participants will also review and learn about the various performance metrics required by Division 3 concrete including FL and FF numbers. The presentation will review and give an understanding about the curing characteristics of concrete, the costs associated with remediating an out of specification concrete slab after interior finishes have been placed vs early in the construction process. Lastly, participants will discover and be able to explain the cost savings in the overall construction process by having a dimensional true and flat subfloor to start with.

TRC Session: Design for Disassembly, Adaptability, & Reuse: Sustainable Interior Construction Virtua https://www.aia-stlouis.org/events/eventdetails.aspx?id=1846798 https://www.aia-stlouis.org/events/eventdetails.aspx?id=1846798 Design for Disassembly, Adaptability, & Reuse: Sustainable Interior Construction Virtual Tour

Manufactured construction supports customized prefabricated solutions for interior spaces. It’s innately sustainable and Designed for Disassembly.

The key is technology. Real-time, interactive 3D software integrates with CAD, Revit, and manufacturing software, bridging the gap between the client design team and the manufacturer. This results in high-performance interiors that keep their value over time. Especially suited to projects where cost, quality and schedule certainty are of the essence, this type of construction promotes safety at the project site and can be specified to contribute to better indoor air quality. It also offers environmental sustainability, design control, and the ability to integrate technology seamlessly into the space.
